Golf Courses in the Cook Islands: The Full List

Take a break from snorkelling and enjoy the array of land activities of the Cook Islands, including golf. That’s right, both the islands of Rarotonga and Aitutaki have their own golf courses, while there’s also a mini golf course for some family-friendly fun. Learn more about every single golf course in Rarotonga and the Cook Islands in the list below!

For a more in-depth look at golfing in the Cooks, take a look at The Complete Guide to Golf in the Cook Islands.

Rarotonga Golf Club

Enjoy a round at this casual range where golfers tee off island-style in their shorts and tees. That’s right, Rarotonga has its own tropical 9-hole golf course among swaying palms and with a mountain backdrop! Don’t expect pristine greens here but a basic yet challenging zig-zagging course where radio masts and coconut trees will be your biggest hurdles. Once you’ve done your round at the Rarotonga Golf Club, head to the clubhouse and bar to relax with fellow golfers. Rentals are available from the clubhouse, which are as “pristine” as the greens. This is island-style golf, after all!

Location: Tipani Road, Nikao, Rarotonga. Plan your trip to Raro with The Complete Travel Guide to Rarotonga.

Aitutaki Golf Club

That’s right, Aitutaki too has its own tropical 9-hole golf course among coconut palms with lagoon views. The golf course is just north of the old airfield where you can hire clubs from the airport to enjoy teeing off at your own leisure or join the locals for their Thursday competition starting at 3.30pm-4pm. Needless to say, you can only hire clubs from the airport when the planes are coming in so check out the schedule in our guide, Domestic Flights in the Cook Islands: Your Guide to Interisland Flights.

Location: The northern tip of Aitutaki, above the old runway. Plan your trip to Aitutaki using The Complete Travel Guide to Aitutaki.
