Where to Do Yoga in Rarotonga and the Cook Islands
Yes, you would be right in thinking that the glorious sand and lagoon setting of Rarotonga, Aitutaki and the Cook Islands is the perfect place for experiencing yoga. 1. Muri Lagoon SUP Yoga with KiteSUP
No experience is necessary to enjoy a relaxing session of stand-up paddleboard (SUP) yoga on the Muri Lagoon. Join KiteSUP for a 1h30mins group session or a private session where you’ll paddle out to the shores of a private island for a truly serene floating yoga class. You’ll be taught how to paddle the SUP, while yoga poses are beginner-friendly. That’s not to say that there’s no room for more challenging poses – they make for fun shots! 2. Skuha School of Yoga
Nestled at a verdant inland location in the quiet district of Matavera, Skuha School of Yoga offers yoga classes, retreats, sports massages and more. Join your experienced tutor, Michelle, who has more than 20 years of personal training, sports massage therapy, bodybuilding and teaching of Reiki, for one of her rejuvenating yoga classes in a purpose-built Polynesian-style yoga pavilion. There are classes available every day from Monday to Saturday, while private tutoring (as well as yoga teaching certifications) are available.

3. Yoga at the Te Ara Museum
There’s always something going on at Te Ara The Cook Islands Museum of Cultural Enterprise, including yoga classes! Taking place every Monday and Wednesday from 8am, these one-hour yoga classes awaken and align your body with a focus on strength and flexibility. These yoga sessions take place on the upper floor of the cultural enterprise centre with all the equipment included. 4. Yoga in Your Villa or Accommodation
Once you see the gorgeous accommodations in Rarotonga and the Cook Islands, you’ll want more excuses to not leave! With that in mind, bring the yoga to you by enjoying a private yoga mat session at your resort, villa or holiday home. Either on your accommodation’s deck, on the beachfront or somewhere else soothing, these private yoga sessions are all yours. Private yoga classes are offered by KiteSUP and Yogi Maya on Rarotonga.

5. Yoga Retreats in Aitutaki
Finally, while there are no scheduled yoga classes or yoga instructors on Aitutaki (at least, at the time of writing – this page will be updated if any become available), the blissful paradise atoll with its clear turquoise waters and pristine sandbanks is a favourite destination for yoga retreats.
